Indexing of the Journal of Studies on Arabic Language and Literature of Semnan University in the International DOAJ Database

The Vice President for Research and Technology at Semnan University has announced the indexing of the peer-reviewed scientific journal "Studies on Arabic Language and Literature" in the DOAJ International Database.

According to a report from the public relations office of Semnan University, the Vice President for Research and Technology stated that the journal, which has been published by Semnan University since 2010 (1389 AH) in collaboration with Tishreen University in Syria, is now included in the list of indexed publications within the DOAJ international database.

Dr. Mohammad Hossein Ehsani further noted that this Arabic-language journal is among the first joint publications of the Islamic Republic of Iran with Arab universities, established following the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the presidents of Semnan and Tishreen Universities. This initiative was made possible through the efforts of the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at Semnan University.

The Vice President for Research and Technology highlighted that Dr. Ali Zighami, an Associate Professor in the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at Semnan University, serves as the editor-in-chief of this scientific international journal. Additionally, Dr. Sayyed Reza Mirahmadi, also an Associate Professor in the same department, is the editor-in-chief for the Iranian section, while Dr. Abdul Karim Yaqoub, a professor at Tishreen University, oversees the Syrian section.

It is noteworthy that over 38 issues of the international peer-reviewed journal "Studies on Arabic Language and Literature" have been published to date. Since its inaugural issue, the journal has been recognized for scientific research by the Publications Organization of Iran's Ministry of Higher Education. Its articles are indexed not only on its official website, "lasem.semnan.ac.ir," but also on various platforms such as ISC, SID, Magiran, Noormags, and Google Scholar. Researchers from numerous universities across Iran and many Islamic and Arab countries—including Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Sudan, Algeria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, and others—submit their research articles for evaluation and publication in this esteemed journal.

It is important to note that more than 20,745 journals from 134 countries have been indexed in DOAJ. The advantages of being included in this database include the unification of publication practices and sharing of metadata with other databases. The DOAJ encompasses articles across all scientific fields, including science, technology, medicine, social sciences, and humanities. Its primary mission is to enhance the visibility, reputation, and accessibility of open access journals without geographical or linguistic barriers.
