Abstract
The musical symbol is one way of expression among many other ways. It doesn`t directly correspond with meaning or reality. Rather, it provides images that are representative of the original. However, symbols goes beyond this and provide deep significant symbolic meanings and visions. Mystical poetry has a complex intellectual structure, particularly in Arabic and Persian literature. Hence, music symbols have been used as a way of indicating the obscure and unknown. Both Nabulsi and Rumi cherished musical instruments and were mesmerized by them. Their poetry really came as an interpretation of the Koran and of a deep understanding of the capability of the musical symbols in expressing disguised meanings, ideas, and views. The two poets sometimes vary and sometimes match each other in using symbolic musical elements. Each one of them was keen to deepen the relation between the creative mind (the poet) and the created meaning through melodies that tell the secrets and the divine mysteries encoded in the musical symbols
