Abstract
Abu Attayeb al-Mutanabbi was a genius in Arabic poetry .It is said that he was a rare notable of his time and his poems are a source of inspiration for many poets and figures. However, in the 4th century (AH), many views were expressed about flaws and weaknesses in his poetry. Maybe it was this trend that made Ali binAbdul Aziz al-Jurjani write a book on this matter entitled The Mediation between al-Mutanabbi and His Opponents to mediate between al-Mutanabbi and His critics. This research is intended to investigate Jurjani's method of defending al-Mutanabbi, a method which later become a principle reference in Arabic literary criticism.
